Mounted the sensor in the exterior room entrance the chime box is portable, so rather than keep a look out for them the chimes alert me. Wanted an alert when my dogs wanted to come into the house from outside.
It will not sit on a flat surface very well.it rocks around. Otherwise, it works as advertised.
D size batteries cost the same as C size, but, last twice as long. Also, the battery type (C size) used in the receiving uint are not as cost-effective D size.
I purchased this unit to be used for a general purpose room-entry alarm system. If you mount it on a wall, no problem.
Yes, the D size is larger, but, still a better choice. The sensing unit has a round shaped bottom.
I do not understand why it does not have a flat bottom, in case, someone wants to place on a flat surface.
Rubbish. Fuggitaboutdit. Worked unreliably, in living room, at distance of 25'. Set the sensor outside.
Be sure to have extra batteries on hand all the time - just in case - extreme cold can and does zap the batteries - that is the only downside of ANY battery operated product that is outdoors. Easy to use. Other than that, it is GREAT. For a reasonable (read cheap) price, this is just what I needed. We wanted to know if visitors, or more importantly the UPS or FedEx truck, was entering our driveway.Since our driveway is far from the house, it is nice to know in advance if someone is on their way up.This product really works and I recommend it to anyone on a budget.
Sucks. Bought this for my husband for Christmas 2009 for him to hear when paper man shows up. Worked for one week.
