Placed a piece of duct tape over the top half of the hole.perfect.Passing birds still give the occasional false signal. Very sensitive.Mounted it in a birdhouse to protect it from the elements, as suggested by a previous reviewer. With the sensor's view out the entry hole, it was still too sensitive for the location that I placed it.
Much too big for AA and with a stiff spring.meaning that the batteries slip to one side with the slightest jarring. And you have a melt-down.
Wondered why the receiver felt very warm. I am glad that I caught it in time.
The receiver uses 3 AA batteries. The battery overheats rapidly.
When I opened the battery compartment, one AA have melted is entire label and was too hot to touch.Other than a fire hazard, the product works good. However, the battery compartment was NOT designed properly.
The spring then shorts the end of the battery.
I highly recommended the product at a price of under $20. The item works just as expected. I use the sensor inside of my house and have not had any false alarm issues.
Complete waste of money. I should have payed more attention to the poor reviews. Do Not Buy. Device does not work more then 10% of the time. Even set up on a table, when walking past, chime fails to sound 90% of the time.
Would prefer a harder to install alert that is 100% reliable. Driveway Patrol Sensor and Receiver KitCheap and easy to install, but sometimes does not sound chime. Have changed positions several times to see if that made a difference and so far, it hasn't.
